Host a Community Film Screening
The fentanyl crisis is affecting communities across Oregon, but you can help create change. Host a screening and panel discussion of The New Drug Talk—a short, impactful film designed for parents of late elementary to college-aged kids.
The New Drug Talk Oregon is offering up to $500 to fund your event, which can be used for venue costs, childcare, refreshments, or other needs.
To make planning easier, we’ve created a Film Screening Guide to help you organize the event, select panelists, and lead a meaningful discussion. We also provide tips and templates to help you promote your event. Our goal is to make this process as simple as possible for you.
Eligible organizations include:
Schools
Community-based organizations
Non-profit organizations, such as:
Parent advocacy groups
Youth development programs and clubs
Youth-led organizations
Libraries and community learning centers
Faith-based organizations
Cultural and ethnic community groups
Health and wellness organizations

To qualify for the film screening incentive, your event must:
Screen The New Drug Talk in its entirety
Collect a brief pre/post audience survey (provided by us)
Receive approval and confirmation of funding from Song for Charlie staff before the event
We strongly recommend using the promotion tips from our Outreach Toolkit to boost your event’s success.
After your event, you’ll need to submit the following in order to receive payment:
A short survey about the event
At least two photos of the event that we can share on social media
A signed media release form giving us permission to use your photos and event details in promotional materials
