PSA Contest Details
We invite Oregon high school students (ages 14-18) to create a 15-90 second PSA video about the dangers of fentanyl, emphasizing the importance of parents and caregivers starting conversations with their children.
Deadline: Submit your video by May 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM PST.
Who Can Enter:
Students: All currently enrolled high school students (ages 14-18) in Oregon, including those attending public, private, charter, recovery, and home schools.
Teachers: Teachers who sponsor or refer students to the contest.
Team Entries:
Students can work individually or in pairs. Only one entry per person or team.
All video participants must provide a signed release upon entry.
Deadline: Submit your video by May 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM PST.

Format: Ensure your video meets all the guidelines outlined above.
Notification of Winners:
The top three winners will be announced, and their videos will be shared on Song for Charlie’s social media channels on May 22, 2025.
All winners will also be notified via email.
Your video will be evaluated based on:
Authenticity and Creativity: Originality and genuineness of your message.
Impactfulness: Effectiveness in encouraging family conversations about fentanyl.
Inclusion of Call-to-Action: Does your video end with a mention of New Drug Talk Oregon?
Compliance: Adherence to all contest rules and guidelines.
A panel of judges from Song for Charlie leadership and the New Drug Talk Oregon Advisory Board will evaluate all entries.

Only teachers who sponsor or refer students will be eligible for the teacher drawing awards.
Submission Deadline: May 15th, 2025, at 11:59 PM PST.
Winner Announcement and Award Drawings:
May 22nd, 2025, at 7 PM PST, live on Song for Charlie’s Instagram.
Top Three Winners Announced: Their videos will be shared on Song for Charlie’s social media channels.
Notification: All winners will be notified via email.
Participants in this contest are prohibited from using any copyrighted, trademarked, or branded material in their PSAs. This includes, but is not limited to, logos, images, music, or any other content protected by intellectual property laws. All materials used in the PSA must be original or properly licensed for use by the creator. Any submissions that violate these guidelines will be disqualified from the contest.
By submitting your video, you affirm that you have complied with these requirements and acknowledge that your PSA may be featured on our social media pages or other promotional content.
